About
Hello! I’m Teacher Promise, an English and Igbo tutor from Nigeria. I have a BSc in Public Administration and experience in administration, accounting, and working with people. I also have a TEFL qualification and I enjoy helping children learn in a simple, friendly and enjoyable way. I love working with children because every child learns differently. I’m patient, encouraging and always happy to celebrate small progress. Outside teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, learning new things, creating beautiful teaching materials and connecting with people. I’d love to meet your child and make learning English or Igbo something they look forward to!
Teaching Experience
My lessons are fun, interactive and designed around the child’s level, age and learning needs. I mainly teach children ages 4–10, and I focus on English and Igbo. A typical lesson starts with a friendly greeting and a short conversation to help the child feel comfortable. We then learn the main topic using simple explanations, pictures, examples, questions, stories, songs or games. I encourage children to participate instead of simply listening, and I give them lots of praise and encouragement along the way. We may also use short activities or worksheets to practise what we have learned. At the end of the lesson, we review the main points together and finish with a simple activity or exit question to check their understanding. My goal is for every child to feel comfortable, confident and excited to learn.
