Hi! I'm Kseniya, a Spanish teacher and language coach specializing in conversational Spanish. I help adults who understand Spanish but struggle to speak confidently in real-life situations. I'm originally from Turkmenistan — a country you may not have heard much about! I've been living in Spain for five years with my Spanish husband and our bilingual son. Spanish isn't just a language I teach; it's the language I use every day with my family and friends. I live in Asturias, a beautiful green region in northern Spain. I love nature, hiking in the mountains, and discovering new things. If I had to choose between the ocean and the mountains, the mountains would win every time! I'm also fascinated by how people learn languages and why some learners make progress while others feel stuck. That curiosity led me to language coaching, which has become an essential part of my teaching approach.
Teaching Experience
I've been teaching Spanish since 2017. I started my career at Ashgabat International School (Quality Schools International), where I taught Spanish using English as the language of instruction. Since 2022, I've specialized in teaching adults online. My qualifications include Moreland University's Teacher Preparation Program, specialized training in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE Internacional), and a certificate in Fundamental Linguacoaching from TutorLab. My specialty is helping learners turn the Spanish they already know into Spanish they can actually speak. I've worked with students who knew Spanish grammar and vocabulary but struggled to use them in conversations. Through language coaching and targeted speaking practice, I've helped learners overcome speaking barriers and become more confident in real-life communication. I don't believe in giving everyone the same exercises. First, I identify what's preventing each student from reaching their goal. Then, I design a personalized learning strategy focused on the skills they actually need. My areas of expertise include: Conversational Spanish: speaking practice, fluency development, and overcoming speaking barriers. Business Spanish / Spanish for work: personalized preparation for workplace communication, job interviews, meetings, and professional goals. DELE exam preparation: DELE A1-В2, including preparation for Spanish citizenship applicants. Intensive Spanish: personalized 3-month language coaching programs focused on specific goals and practical communication. My lessons combine realistic scenarios, structured speaking practice, and personalized strategies that students can apply beyond the classroom.
